On this date, I have signed, with line item vetoes, the following bill                                                          
passed during the first special session of the Thirty-Third Alaska State                                                        
Legislature, and am transmitting the engrossed and enrolled copies to                                                           
the Lieutenant Governor's Office for permanent filing:                                                                          
                                                                                                                                
            SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 39(FIN) am S                                                                   
    "An Act making appropriations for the operating and loan                                                                    
    program expenses of state government and for certain programs;                                                              
    capitalizing funds; repealing appropriations; amending                                                                      
    appropriations; making capital appropriations, supplemental                                                                 
    appropriations, and reappropriations; and providing for an

This budget, with line item vetoes, represents prudent and fiscally                                                             
responsible investments in public safety, public education, and

economic development. The vetoes made were the result of a thorough                                                             
evaluation and consistent application of the priorities of my                                                                   
administration to preserve general funds for savings and ensure fiscal
